concerning co-workers divorce -- get over it!

I've got a co-worker who is leaving her husband, she's in her early 20's with a toddler. This couple has been together 5 years and married for 3. She's leaving her husband because he plays video games too much and she doesn't feel he spends enough time with the child (where is the child now though? with the grandparents...convenient), at least that is what I am gathering. My advise to her..."Get over it!"

This man will still do anything for her even though she has moved out. She called him this morning at work because she forgot her work shoes and asked him to bring them to her. What does he do, he leaves his job and goes and buys her new shoes and brings them to her. And she acts all rude about it. GROW UP!

I could see where the video game thing could get annoying, but every man has some kind of hobby. Mine is into cars and spends much of his free time in the garage, but you don't her me bitching about it. Hell, sometimes it's even nice...I get some me time too! Back to my point...you could have it soooo much worse. He could be out at the bars every night with his buddies. He could be out there chasing other women & cheating on you.

Stop playing with his emotions. Either you want him or you don't, you can not be his wife one minute and his ex-wife the next. Love it or leave it, don't play games! Right now he will do anything for you, wait until he gets pissed off...all that shit will change. No more bringing you things, no more Mr. Nice guy!

You say that no matter what, you will still do holidays & birthdays as a family...even after you both remarry. HA HA Of all the people I have ever heard say that, 99% fail! The new wife/husband will ALWAYS take priority over the ex, leaving the child stuck right in the middle. Best not to put the child through it, it can and probably will cause more hurt.

Anyway, I saw the way he looked at you today...he still loves you. If you don't feel the same, you need to be honest with him and stop giving him false hope. Step back into the real world and get out of fantasy land. If you want to make it work, seek outside help. If you don't, then let him go and quit pulling the strings! Then again, I know I don't know the whole story...

VMA Drama

As most of the free world knows by now, Kanye West threw a tantrum at the MTV Video Music Awards last night. Beyonce' and Taylor Swift (among others) were both up for female video of the year...Taylor won, took to the stage, started her little speech, then Kayne West took the mic from her and stated that Beyonce' should have won because her video was one of the best videos ever.

First of all...nothing against Beyonce' but the video for Single Ladies is her and 2 other dancers in front of a greyish background dressed in body suits and shaking their asses. I like the song, hell I like the video; but as for it being one of the best videos ever, I don't think so. Sorry.

Second of all...who the hell does Kanye West think he is? That big ole' ego of his needs to be taken down a peg or two. The man has to be the center of attention, that much is obvious based on his current hair style alone. He's become the king of the celebrities that tend to open their mouths and speak before thinking clearly, err at all. Open mouth and insert foot yet again Kanye. I guess that my biggest problem with this is that yet again Kanye says something and it's immediately assumed that all black people are thinking this or are being treated like this. Come on folks, he's a dumbass! It doesn't matter what color his skin is, he could be white or hispanic and he'd still be just as stupid. Don't play the race card like he did, you too will look like a dipshit if you do.

Third...if any man had a bitch about anything or anyone dissing Beyonce' in anyway, it's Jay Z! Who I'm betting could squash Kanye like a bug.

Fourth...poor Taylor Swift. She wins an award and some asshole comes along and ruins it for her. How Kanye figured it was her fault when the american public was the ones voting is beyone me.

And lastly...I have a new found respect for Beyonce'. She won her own award and stepped aside without giving her own acceptance speech and invited Taylor to come back on stage and finish her thank you's. Not only does that make her a true star in my eyes, I believe it was also a big fuck you to Kanye.

I was pleased to learn this morning that after his moment as an asshole on stage last night at the VMA's, he was approached, told to leave, and escorted out.

I will also continue to be fans of both Beyonce' and Taylor Swift, but I will no longer be one of Kanye's nor will I buy his music again.

Idiot Drivers

Is it just me or does it seem like more and more idiots are behind the wheel these days?! Are they just giving out drivers licenses to anyone who shows up to the DMV?

Did you know in England you have to take a "real" drivers course? They don't offer it in high school and you actually have to pay money to take the course. Plus you are only allowed to take the test so many times a year if you fail. I knew someone who had been trying to pass the test for over 15 years! I think the British are right on this one...

Idiot drivers can be classified into the following:

Tailgaters - That stupid jerk behind you who is so close that you can see his face clearly in your rear view mirror. They are the reason why states have laws automatically putting the fault on the back car in a rear ended accident. They don't get the hint that you can only move as fast as the traffic in front of you and think that by getting all up on your ass it will miraculously make everyone speed up.

Brake riders - These folks have no clue how to judge distance and shouldn't be allowed to drive!

Left laners - These dipshits get in the left lane, aka the fast lane, and either go the speed limit or below causing traffic to back up. Pay attention to the signs that say "slower traffic keep right" and get your ass over!

Road owners - These morons think they own the road, period! They park where ever they see fit, even if that's in the middle of the road. They are careless and don't pay attention to any of the other cars around them.

Speed racers - These dumbasses do more than just speed, they have to be the fastest car or in the front of everyone else. They have no regard for other drivers; they weave in and out of traffic, almost clipping cars as if it is nothing. They don't have any idea what the speed limit is and wouldn't follow it anyway. They are reckless and probably full of themselves!

Old folks/new drivers - These peeps can be classified together and are generally some combination of the above listed. They are timid, scared, and slow. My opinion is this: teenagers should have it harder to get a license and old folks should have to take a driving test to get their license renewed every year.

So folks, quit being a moron and stop driving like an asshole. Just drive! Relax, you'll get there!

Lazy Co-workers

Hope you all had a great labor day weekend, I know I did. It was great to get that extra day off from work and time away from co-workers. Speaking of co-workers...

How can someone morally or ethically come to work everyday and actually do no work?

Seriously, we have someone at work that none of us can figure out she does in the way of work! I see her surfing the web a lot, I see her take 10 cigarette breaks a day, I see her gabbing it up all the time but not actually working. She takes close to 2 hour lunches and gets away with it...she takes her lunch an hour or so before the boss does, then gets to screw off while he's gone to lunch.

I barely have enough time in the day to get my job done, running around all day trying too get the most important stuff done and here she is just surfing the web most of the day. You'd think that would get boring, I know that it would drive me out of my mind! We're beginning to all ask ourselves what her job really is.

Could you be that person that no one respects in the office? Would you want to be the person that everyone secretly talks about? How in the hell do you surf the internet and gab on your cell phone all day without feeling like a douche? How can you collect a paycheck for something you failed to do? And don't think the boss doesn't notice, he does. He's just waiting...

Perez - Why do you have to be such a jerk? And you wonder why all these celebs hate you, are you that clueless? Why would you point out a 15 year old childs butt and boobs? Thats just wrong! Also you're not a parent, therefore you don't get to judge parenting skills.

Demi - You're a celebrity, you put yourself out there. You chose to put your children out there. If you don't like it, it falls on you. You could have kept your kids private like some celebs have. And why are you letting your 15 year old CHILD wear those types of outfits? It brings out the freaks, as you've just learned.

The Cell phone saga...cont'd

I received a phone call from Verizon today wishing to resolve the Better Business Bureau complaint I filed a few weeks ago. It appears we will be offered brand new verizon network phones as they believe our problem stems from our Alltel equipment not working properly with the verizon network. We'll see what happens though...

Why it had to get this far is beyond me. Verizon could have done this for us 6 weeks ago when all this drama started. Why must I be forced to be a bitch and file complaints with the BBB or the FCC to get action? Why must they make me be mean? Maybe additional training for the customer service reps is in order, I think I got 2 out of 25 in the last few weeks who even sounded like they knew what they were talking about or even willing to help.

So a word to the wise my friends, take it up the chain as far as you can...but in the end with big corporations like this, you will have to take it that step further to actually be heard!

Alltel to Verizon Merger - Tons of Fun, NOT!

I have about had it with Verizon Wireless, I can't take this anymore!

Let me start from the beginning...over 2 years ago, after moving back to the United States from serving our country with the military in England, we signed up for service with Alltel. Great service, never had any problems whatsoever. We knew the merger with Verizon was coming and were actually looking forward to it. A few months before the merger, we upgraded our phones and were told that there wouldn't be any problems with them once the merger took effect, thus extending our contracts.

July 2009 - enter Verizon.

Nothing but problems since the take over.
1. dropped calls
2. calls breaking up
3. poor signal strength
4. calls going straight to voicemail
5. texts not going or coming through
6. slow to non-existent internet speeds

I have called repeatedly, been shuffled from department to department, person to person. Everyone has an answer, too bad none of them are right. Do you have any idea how many times I have removed the battery from my phone to "reset" it or dialed *228 to "reprogram" it? Neither do I, lost count a month ago. Trouble tickets have been opened, one lasting over 2 weeks and still no resolution. Although Verizon has said the trouble tickets are showing fixed, I am still having the same issues. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in New Jersey where they are based. A woman from the "Verizon executive division" called on 8/21 and said she would look into the matter and get back with me. Still nothing after 10 days. Today I filed a complaint with the FCC; we'll see if that gets us anywhere, somehow I'm doubting it.

My next step is going to be switching cell phone providers and dealing with fighting the early termination fees later.

I need service, let me rephrase that, I NEED RELIABLE SERVICE!! I have a child with asthma who needs to be able to contact me at ALL TIMES, not when Verizon feels like giving me phone service. Plus, what the hell are we paying over $200.00 a month for?!

Monday's suck!

Why is it that Monday's always suck?! It started off this morning with this dipshit in a minivan pulling out in front of me, of course I was mid-drink and spilt my monster energy drink all over me and my car. Did I mention that it was the purple variety and stains? Woohoo!!

It just got better at work, how some people manage to keep jobs is beyond me. Come to work on time, do your job and please limit your break times, you take to many...you know who you are! Then again it would be great if I got paid to just come in, surf the internet, take 10 smoke breaks a day and get away with it...minus the smoke breaks, ewww!!! Oh and washing your hands 50 times a day doesn't get rid of the smell; it's in your hair and clothes!!

Lets not forget the traffic light that let 5 cars turn on the left arrow per light, me being like number 30 in the long line of cars waiting to turn. I finally gave up, turned right and came back around.
